It was always a pleasure to see and be with Auntie Bernie throughout my life. Such a generous, warm hearted, dignified "lady". She would have been at home with royalty, but grew up from salt of the earth roots. Part of a wonderful family that sadly is diminishing. She will always be remembered with great fondness and respect. Rest in Peace my dear Aunt. Love xoxo

I had the privilege of spending time with Bernadette every Friday morning for the last 10 months or so. During that time Bernadette shared many of her memories with me. I will never forget her, Bernadette was a loving and caring person.

When Bernie and you first came to Canada. I remember well every Tuesday your mum having dad and us boys for dinner .It was always an amazing meal and your mum just made it special. She was such a sweet and kind woman. We’d sit for hours some nights when I was a teenager just her and I talking. Talking about things you can’t talk to your parents about.
She used to wake us up whenever I crashed at your place. Didn’t matter how many beers we had the night before there was no sleeping in. She has a special place in my heart.
When we talked on the phone about Anne and I she was so happy to meet her and Anne loved her straight away and she was so happy for us. Sorry Andrew and to your family our deepest sympathies .

We knew Bernadette as a wonderful, kind and giving neighbour who cared for others in everything she did. From her many volunteer efforts she derived as much as she gave, perhaps even more. Our thoughts are with Andrew and Annita and the extended family. Bernadette was a lady of class and elegance.
She will be missed in the community and in our neighbourhood.
