It was a sad surprise to hear about Darrel's passing. As a neice I spent time visiting with Darrel's Mom & Dad (Uncle Herb & Aunt Dorothy). I was 11 when Darrel was born so really didn't spend a lot of time him. I remember him & Dale playing outside like young boys do & then little sister Dawn arrived. Of course a baby was more interesting for me. Over time my husband Murray & I visited my aunt & uncle during the years on the farm & quite often Darrel (as a married man now, father of 3 & running the farm) would drop by. He always had a warm hello & good conversation with our visits. That is how I'll remember Darrel - talking baseball & how proud he was of how his son Adam played the game. It's difficult to think our cousin is no longer with us but the time we did have with Darrel brings memories of the good times spent years ago.
Our sincere Sympathy goes to his entire family.

We are so sorry to learn of Darrell's passing. As children, we spent time together playing games. As first cousins, we had a family connection that sustains happy memories. And as adults, even though we did not connect very often, we were always happy to see Darrell and his family.
Please accept our condolences during this difficult time.

Over the last few years Darrel and his brother Dale became close as they travelled the world with their wives. Darrel and Dale spent hours sitting in the sun together talking about life and family. Darrel always wanted to hear everything that was going on in the family’s lives. They loved talking about their children, grandchildren, crops, politics and the old days! Their biggest goal together though was trying to beat their wives in a good game of Euchre and Sequence!
There are no words to describe this loss and he will be missed so much but we will keep our memories of our wonderful times together close to our hearts reminding us how much we loved him.
