Ernest William (Ernie) Richardson has gone to be with the Lord. Ernie was born in Toronto on September 3rd 1937. Survived by his beloved wife Carol (McPhee), his daughter Margaret Henderson (Scott) of California, son Bill (Cynthia) of New Brunswick, stepfather to Kelly McPhee of London, Tracy McPhee also of London and Michael McPhee (Debbie) of Cottam, ON. Also a loving Grandpa to 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his father George, mother Elsie (Lewis) and stepson Richard McPhee. After graduating H.B. Beal Technical High School (machine shop 1955), Ernie went to the Ford of Canada Trade School in Windsor specializing in tool and die. He worked in various positions throughout the Ford company for 40 years and retired as a Powertrain Engineer from Ford – St. Thomas, ON in 1995. Ernie enjoyed spending his winters in Florida; often helping build houses for East Pasco Habitat for Humanity in Dade City, FL. Ernie was also an avid motorcyclist who ‘Lived to Ride’ and also serve the Lord. He was an active member of Dorchester Community Church; he acknowledged the many talents he had been given by God and shared them with all who needed his assistance. At Ernie’s request, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at Dorchester Community Church - which was his ‘labour of love’ during the summer of 2008 – on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 12PM. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Dorchester Community Church building fund or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Wearing your motorcycle gear in honour of Ernie is also appreciated.
