Mr.Latham was an important part of my life both in school and conversations in later years. He taught me to recognize both my strengths and weaknesses and how to work on both to improve my life and those around me.

I remember Mr. Latham fondly as a great English teacher who also humorously mocked me daily for my spelling, which absolutely did me well in University since I was sooooo aware of this problem! :)
He was also funny and accommodating as a librarian and always had time for a good chat.
I have not seen Mr. Latham in many years, but he is a strong fixture in my many great memories of LDSS.
To Tim and the whole family, my condolences.

Impossible to think of Bill without Billie, and vice versa!
What a wonderful close marriage they enjoyed for 60 years, and what wonderful memories for Nancy and Tim to savour over the years.
Whenever we would get together , there was non-stop talking and lots of chuckles. As is well known, Bill was an excellent story-teller.
A favourite memory is of the few days we enjoyed together at Adams Lake, B.C., with Tim and Nancy, too, and our family., more than 30 years ago. It is so nice to have memories like that.
With so much love to Billie and family,
Dorothy and Ted

Condolences Billie, Tim, Nancy and families,
So sorry to know that Bill a loving husband , father, grandfather and friend has passed. I truly enjoyed working with Bill in the LDSS Library. He thought me everything I know about doing research and working with students and helping them with their assignments.
He was the best person I have ever worked with. He will be missed by all who knew and worked with him.
Bill, Billie and all the family you will be in my prayers.

I would like to send my condolences to Nancy, Tim and the rest of the family. Mr Latham taught me English in Grade 9 back in 1983-84 at LDSS. Life long lessons I still appreciate even to today. I remember one certain book we studied that mentioned Dorchester and Penzance England. Because of Mr Latham got me so intrigued about that part of England through his descriptions of how things were there l. I ended up visiting the area. I now live a couple of hours away from there now. I will now feel the spirit of one of my favourite LDSS teachers Mr Latham there now each time I visit. I will miss your dad Nancy and Tim. Hugs to you all.

Bill and Billie were cherished neighbours of our grandparents, Roy and Mae Hunter, and friends of our parents, Jack and Kay through that association as well as Dorchester United Church. Mom was also a colleague of Bill's at LDSS and a teacher to some of the clan. Our condolences to the family, but wonderful to hear of a life well-lived. Joan, Jane and Judy

Mr. Latham had been a constant in my life, memories of high school and being a good neighbour comfort me. At Christmas there was a peanut treat I would make and drop off, Mr. Latham would hide them in the cupboard supposedly so the cat wouldn’t eat his favourite, when in reality he was hiding them from everyone else. My recipe book even has written on it « Mr. Latham’s fav » so I would try to drop some of any time they we made. He will be missed. Billie, Nan and Tim, you are in my thoughts.
