I am shocked and heartbroken for your family. My deepest condolences. My daughter (Alanna) and I met Evelyn at PMDU in 1998. When we arrived for check ups and treatments, she always greeted us with a smile and chatted for a few minutes. Evelyn helped my daughter to not be so nervous when getting poked and having procedures. May Evelyn rest peacefully in the arms of God.

Dear Danielle, Michael, David and John, i am so, so sorry for your loss.
My favourite memories of Evelyn are laughing and giggling together as our kids played soccer, figure skated or played hockey at the arena. We worked together on the South Dorchester Lice Buster team and were both members of the Second Thursday Club. In recent years we would catch up on our children's lives standing at the end of my driveway as Ev either was going to the church or leaving the church. She was such a kind, gentle and compassionate women. She loved you all very much. I will really miss her.

It is hard to fathom death has silenced Ev! She was a force to be reckoned with!
Her voice: I can still hear her infecious laughter. Her words could cheer you on or cheer you up.
Supporter & friend: Ev was one of those wonderful people who just picked up the conversation no matter how long it had been. She was a wealth of knowledge & a community enthusiast.
May you all hold your memories close & cherish each one. ♥️

We met Evelyn at the PMDU after our five week old son was diagnosed with neuroblastoma Stage 4 in 2008. She made each visit so much easier by sharing herself with us. After Colston was moved to after care she was always eager to hear from him when we were at PMDU to see other specialists. She will be missed by hundreds of cancer families. She was an amazing person.

Q: What will you never forget about Evelyn?
A: Dear “Cousins”
I will never forget our Family Pool Party in in Dundee when Evelyn arrived with my Mom’s layered jello in hand.
My Mom made this signature dish at our family gatherings and Evelyn then honoured “Aunt Lisa” by carrying on her legacy with her family.
I searched high and low for these pool pictures and Amy then surprised me with it!

I have been searching for the words to describe the impact Evelyn had on our PMDU family but I continue to come up short. No words will properly describe the light that was Evelyn. The presence she had, the many patients who would rush to see her, the FUN that she made-some days it didn't even feel like we were at work at all. She ensured that everyone felt included, attending all events- birthdays, farewells, wedding showers, etc. She wanted every person to feel special, and she did. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
To her family- thank you. Thank you for sharing the bright light that was Evelyn with her PMDU family.

When I first started working in Paediatric Oncology, Evelyn showed me all the PMDU ropes . Always with a smile and kind words for me , all staff around her and most importantly for the children and their parents/ families. She enthusiastically spearheaded many fundraising efforts for the Children with cancer and their families . She was always speaking fondly of her own family and would let us now when the next Grandchild would be appearing while beaming with pride . She was truly a one of a kind gem .❤️ She made a significant difference in so many lives . She will be greatly missed .

In April of 2007, my family and I became PMDU regulars as our almost 8 year old son was diagnosed with cancer. Evelyn was always a calming force, on top of all of the appointments, follow-ups and whatever else this mom needed as we travelled the scary journey of childhood cancer. She also happened to share a birthday with our boy and ensured when he arrived at PMDU on his 8th birthday for treatment, that he was celebrated, plopping a birthday cake hat on his head and letting everyone know it was his special day. She was a remarkable person with a calm demeanor who made us all feel that it would be ok. We will think of her often and remember her as the kind, considerate and thoughtful person she was. Rest easy Evelyn, and thank you for everything - your friends the Hepburn Family

Our family met Evelyn 11 years ago at PMDU in London. We loved Evelyn and were shocked to hear about passing. She always treated us with a smile, a story and a mountain of encouragement. All my memories of Aunt Evelyn are lovely - one especially of her & Oma cooking up a storm one day. They loved cooking together.
She was always smiling & a kind loving woman but strong.
Odd memories of playing with my cousins, the raisin board-game, golf on TV, an advanced computer game of building a city & running around their backyard until she called us in for snacks.
She loved organizing family gatherings & the church.
I will always remember her laugh was infectious. she was pure joy, energy and positivity even in the hardest times.

I just love the PROMPT for inspiration idea here on Evelyn's memory book. I already knew what I wanted to write but I just think this is such a nice idea for her children to understand the impression and effect Evelyn left on us all.
For years and years, Evelyn was usually the first face we would see on some of the hardest days of our lives. Her cheerful greetings and personalized attention made not just my son and daughter feel special, but also my husband and I. Later, when I worked in Children's I was able to appreciate Evelyn even more. I saw that she was an incredible co-worker and enthusiastic team member within the PMDU and all of Children's hospital. (My favourite work memories are of her excitement at Halloween and the PMDU costume themes!)
The world has lost a light but a light that hundreds, if not thousands will remember.

Many years ago I walked in to PMDU as a personal Support Worker. She was so very open and accommodating as I made my way around the unit. (The old one). When I returned several years later in a different role she had not changed from the first time we met. Evelyn supported me when my Dad passed away, and just last October she visited the open house held for my 60th birthday. We conspired to have me facetime another co-workers retirement party last June. I had every intention of contacting Evelyn next month while I am in Canada. Her passing has left a rather large hole in my heart. Condolences to the entire family…

We are so very sorry for your loss. We will always remember Evelyn's beautiful smile that greeted us for years at PMDU. She was an amazing kind human being who always took the time to make our daughter feel special during her visits. Brennan always looked forward to Evelyn's endless supply of special princess stickers chosen just for her. All these years later we remember her with great fondness. I was lucky enough to see her a few months ago and she still beamed when she smiled. Our family is keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers.

John. Mike and Carmi, Danielle and Mike, Dave and Memory and our sweet grandniece and grandnephews. We are so sad to hear of Ev’s passing. She has left a huge hole in the Mooser/Antonuk families and in our hearts. Ev loved organizing family activities — golf tournaments, dinners and any reason to celebrate. She was so interested in our kids and always wanted updates on our grandkids activities, she even came to watch baseball games. Whatever pain she was in, our Ethan said “she is in heaven now and God is taking care of her “. We will miss her infectious laugh, her constant smile and her big hugs. We pray you will find peace and are so sorry for your loss.
