As a childhood friend of Michelle, I fondly recall spending time playing at her house, and as we got older, hanging out around the kitchen table or playing pool in the downstairs basement. Her dad, Al, was always someone who welcomed you with a warm smile and some funny story or joke, and immediately made you feel right at home. His boisterous laughter could fill a room, and his smile, and that amazing twinkle in his eyes, is something I will always remember about him. I am very thankful that I got to see Al last summer (2023) when I was visiting Michelle and her family. Although we hadn’t seen each other in many years, Al greeted me with that big, warm smile of his, and I immediately felt transported back to those youthful days, laughing and chitchatting around his kitchen table.
