Obituary of Larry Clifford Roy

Larry ‘Homer’ Roy On Wednesday, October 4th 2023, Larry “Homer” Roy passed away suddenly at home. Beloved husband and best friend of 53 years to Donna (Woods) Roy. Proud father of Jamie Roy (Sarah Braunton) and loving grandpa to Bella and Sean Roy. Predeceased by his parents Eric (1982) and Zelda (Handspiker) Roy (1992), his brother Glen (1996) and sister Brenda (2013) and also Donald (1986) and Audrey (Smith) Woods (2020). Survived by his brothers Ray (Anne), Gary (Kathy) and Dennis and also survived by his sister in law Susan (Noad) Roy and Barbara Parker (Bob “Flash”) and brother in law Ken Woods (Heather) and several nieces and nephews. Larry was a lifelong resident of Dorchester. He played on many ball teams and coached hockey teams as well. He also owned and showed his beloved 1966 Chevy II in many car shows for many years. Larry was also a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion - Branch #513 and over the years he was also a member of the Dorchester Lions and the Optimist Club in Dorchester. As per his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 19th 2023 from 1pm to 4pm at the Royal Canadian Legion – Branch #513 (1227 Donnybrook Drive, Dorchester, ON N0L 1G0).
