Obituary of Irene Marie Ann Primeau

Please share a memory of Irene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Saturday, February 18, 2023, as the sun set and the stars shined brightly in the sky, Mrs. Irene Marie Ann Primeau received her angel wings, with family by her side. Born on August 11, 1936 to parents George & Julia (Moraz) Trella in Port Lambton. Growing up, Irene helped out on the family farm and was often still in the fields when her suitor, Ron Primeau, arrived to pick her up for their date. Ron would get on the tractor, to finish the ploughing, so that Irene could go in and get herself prettied up for their date. That must have impressed her because on October 29, 1955, they became husband and wife. In 1960 they welcomed their daughter Deborah and then in 1973 they welcomed their son Michael. Graduating in 1955 from WDSS, Irene started her career at Schultz Die Casting. Later working at Dominion Glass, Hillerich and Bradsby and St. Clair Tool and Die. Irene took great pride in her garden and flowerbeds. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, snowmobiling, boating, spent many hours at the ball diamond watching her husband play and loved playing golf. Later, she enjoyed playing euchre especially if it meant euchring the other team, which usually consisted of her husband and son-in-law. Most of all, she enjoyed being at home cuddled up with her dog Tiger, being surrounded by family, and cooking delicious meals. Irene will be sadly missed by her beloved husband Ronald, daughter and son-in-law Debbie (Harry) Courtis, son and daughter in law Michael (Carmela) Primeau, grandchildren Ryan (Leah) Primeau and Luke Primeau, and great grandchild Aubrey Primeau. Preceded by her mother Julia, father George, sister Helen, and brothers Mike and George. A special thank you to the staff at The Dorchester Terrace and to the nurses, doctors, PSWs and physiotherapists at Victoria Hospital for their compassionate care.
