John Ernest Broomfield of Dorchester, ON - Peacefully passed away at LHSC Victoria Hospital, London on February 15, 2023. Loving husband of Lenora for 48 years; father of Heather Elmhirst and her husband John (London) and David Broomfield of Thorndale and loving grandfather of Blake (his mother Heidi); remembered by his sister Marjorie Jackson of Delaware and brother Gerald Broomfield of London. Predeceased by his parents William and Erma Broomfield and sisters Margaret Frazer and Patricia Goldrick. Survived by several nieces and nephews. John was an ironworker in the construction trade for 42 years working all over the Province on Ontario. He enjoyed his 26 years of retirement by traveling with Lenora across Canada and the U.S.A. His special interest was going to NASCAR races in the U.S. and rooting for number 1 driver, Martin Truex Jr. He also loved short track racing at Delaware. Cremation has taken place with private interment at Dorchester Union Cemetery at a later date. An informal visitation will be held at the Dorchester United Church (Lower Level), 4100 Catherine Street, Dorchester on Saturday, February 25 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
