MacDonald, John Alexander "Al", age 85, formerly of Bruce Township on December 22, 2021. Loving husband of Eleanor (predeceased 2009). Dedicated father to Michelle Smibert (Scott) and Karen MacDonald. Proud grandfather of Tavish, Alex and Collin. Al is survived by his sister Helen Burnside of Kincardine; brother in law Joe Lamont and sisters in law Lynn Lamont and Joan Lamont. Predeceased by brother in law Wib Burnside. A lifetime spent in the construction industry started with work on the Trans Canada Highway and ended up with Brent-Reg Construction. He was a devoted Lions Club member and his dedication was acknowledged with the prestigious Melvin Jones Award, When not serving his community of Dorchester, you could find him at a Knights game, a curling rink or socializing at the Legion. Al was a quiet, generous and humble man who will be missed. A private family graveside service has already taken place. A celebration of Al's life will be held at a future date.
