Obituary of John and Beverly McLachlan

McLachlan, John Smibert, 85, passed away on August 11, 2021 suddenly. He was born on September 29, 1935 in London, ON to John (Jack) McLachlan and Hope Smibert. Brother to Barbra (McLachlan) Parrott and David. McLachlan, Beverly Anne, 82, joined her beloved husband on August 15, 2021. She was born on August 2, 1939 in London, ON to Lyell Mercer and Violet Bengough. Sister to Joyce Long. John and Bev were married for 64 years and were parents to Cheryl McLachlan and Sarah Shellard; Kevin McLachlan and Lisa (Spitters) and Wendy (McLachlan) Wilson and Tex Wilson. Grandparents to Tanya and Cody Wilson whom they adored. Aunt and Uncle to Mike and Silvana, Greg and Cathy, Terry and Joanne, Cathy and Jim, Ian and Helen and Brenda and Steve. John grew up on a farm and was a proud member of the Glanworth I.O.O.F. Lodge. Bev grew up in Byron. They enjoyed their time spent north in Powassan and winters in the sunny south with their family. John and Bev are preceded in death by their parents, brother in law Walter Long and niece Bev Long. The family wishes to thank the London Health Sciences Trauma Team for their care throughout. A private funeral service will be held at the White Oak Cemetery on Saturday, August 21 followed by a celebration of their lives to be held at the farm.
