Johannes (John) Snyders passed away peacefully at home on February 19, 2021 in his 82nd year.
Beloved husband of Antonia (Toni) Snyders (nee Visser) for 58 years, father of David, Frank (Lu), Gary (Colleen), Tom (Brenda), Tracy (Frank). Grandfather to Emma (David), Hanna, Abby and Maggy Snyders, Haden, Garrett and Faith Snyders, Nicholas, Jessica and Jack Serratore. Great grandfather to Andrew.
Brother to the late Tony (Columba) Snyders, the late Wilhemina (the late Piet) Van Lanen, Leny (the late Gerry) Gremmen, Mary (the late Harry) Deloyer, Tina (the late John Berkvens, the late John) Van Berkel, Gerry (Rose) Snyders, Joe (the late Jane) Snyders, Anna Marie (Harry) Sleegers, Jack (Irena) Snyders.
Brother in law to Harry (Madeline) Visser, Joe (Rose) Visser, Dinah (the late Tony) Koot, Pete (Selene) Visser, Mary (Everit) Moons, Teddie (John) Willemse, Tony (Erma) Visser.
Born in Asten, The Netherlands and immigrated to Canada with his parents, Laurens and Johanna Snyders and his siblings in 1953. A brick layer by trade, an engineer at heart, John conceived and built countless designs during his construction and woodworking career. He loved music and sang in church choirs throughout his life.
Though ALS restricted his later years, John's positive attitude and optimism during his illness inspired all who knew him.
Friends will be received at the Bieman Funeral Home, 3970 Hamilton Road, Dorchester ( Wednesday 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.) Funeral mass at Mary Immaculate Roman Catholic Church, 1980 Trafalgar Street, London on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
Due to COVID 19 protocols as set forth by Provincial and Local Health Units and to control the numbers of people at any given point during visitation and the funeral mass, you are required to telephone (519)-268-7672 to register your name and telephone number and desired time you wish to attend the visitation and/or attend the funeral mass. Face masks/coverings are deemed mandatory for attendance at both.
Interment Dorchester Union Cemetery.
