Obituary of Evelyn Maude Bennett

Please share a memory of Evelyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Evelyn M. (Woolley) Bennett was born 92 years ago to Olive(Puckett)and William Woolley. The ever-loving, always supportive Mom of Dr. Barbara Chu (Ansel), Brian (Jacqueline), Dr. Brenda Coleman (Edward Woods), Bradley (Christine), Beth Fabrizio (John), Blake (Phine)and Karen Carroll (Dr. Wayne). Caring Gramma to 21 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She will be missed by her sisters Pat Jackson and Beulah Christie. She was predeceased by her husband Blake (Rip) Edwin Kenny Bennett (2020)and siblings Irvine, Ray, Lewis and John Woolley, Mildred Neil, Margaret McCloskey and Joyce Brearton. Evelyn was born several weeks premature and was not expected to survive. She defied those predictions to become a scholar, a valuable member of the Aylmer High School women's softball and basketball teams; a graduate of Normal School and a teacher in Amherstburg, Aylmer and Harrietsville where she became principal before she left to raise seven successful children, partner in a dairy farm and in their retirement standardbred races horses near Belmont, Ontario. Quietly brilliant, hardworking and uncomplaining with a wry sense of humour; even her in laws loved Evelyn. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Blake's and Evelyn's life will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society of London and Middlesex, 435 Windermere Road, London, ON N5X 2T1 would be appreciated. Online condolences may be made at www.biemanfuneralhome.com (Bieman Funeral Home, 3970 Hamilton Road, Dorchester, ON N0L 1G2 - (519)-268-7672 - in charge of arrangements)
