Obituary of Norma Colleen Bonis

Please share a memory of Norma to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Norma Colleen Bonis (nee Moore) on April 17, 2020. We had just celebrated her 82nd birthday and she knew the love of her family. Norma had been recently diagnosed with cancer and was courageously fighting this terrible disease until it was time for her to finally rest and be at peace. She will be terribly missed by her husband Dave; her children Steven (Carolyn), Andrew (Debbie), Christopher (Philomena), Kerri (predeceased by her husband David), Julie (Kevin) her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Norma was born in Parkhill, Ontario, March 17, 1938 and was one of eleven children born to Hilda and George Moore. Norma worked at Bell Telephone and then Northern Telecom where she met Dave. They were married on April 29, 1972. Many years were enjoyed by the family at the cottage. She loved baseball - both playing in her younger days and watching her beloved Blue Jays. She bowled for a number of years and was still active up until this past winter. She was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed gardening and reading. Norma and Dave were active members of St. Peter's Anglican Church in Dorchester. They enjoyed Tim Horton's and meeting with their coffee friends. Her greatest pride and joy were her family - her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and spending time with them. She was patient, kind and had a big heart, which was felt by everyone who knew her. Norma (mom, grandma) will be sorely missed and she will be forever in our hearts. When we are allowed to gather again, there will be a celebration of Norma's life. There was a private service at the Bieman Funeral Home,3970 Hamilton Road, Dorchester. Condolences and your favourite pictures can be placed on their website, www.biemanfuneralhome.com In lieu of flowers, charitable donations to St. Peter's Anglican Church, 4190 Catherine Street, Dorchester, Ontario N0L 1G0 or London Regional Cancer Program, c/o London Health Sciences Foundation, 747 Base Line Road E., London, Ontario N6C 2R6 would be greatly appreciated by the family.
