Peacefully and with dignity, Jean Mountenay of Dorchester in her 92nd year. Wife of the late Raymond Mountenay (2010). Dear Mother of Sharon Gaudon (Wayne) of Wallacetown, Sheila Sparling of London, Joseph (Deb) of St. Thomas and Trese Biddiscombe (Geoff) of Sherwood Park, Alberta. Loving Grandmother of Todd, Lisa, Phillip, Rhonda, Laura (Mike), Geoff (Jen), Dan (Krista), Eryn and Adam (Courtney)and dear Great Grandmother to Ella, Chloe, Evan, Sophie, Graham, Abbie, Jayden, Sadie, Mavis, Quinn, Baby “M”, and Ember. Sister of Harry, Richard Broughton, Pearl Lynne, Treva Lonsbury and sister-in-law of Velma Clarke and Lenore Broughton. Predeceased by her brothers Bruce, John and Ross. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jean was a self-described artistic quilter and enjoyed her time tending to her gardens. The Mountenay family would like to express their deepest thanks to the staff at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital - Continuing Care Unit C and the recreational therapy department for their outstanding care and kindness. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Bieman Funeral Home (3970 Hamilton Rd. Dorchester, Ontario) on Friday January 17th 2020 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm with a memorial service at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, (4101 Catherine St. Dorchester, Ontario) at 11am on Saturday January 18th 2020. Memorial donations may be made to St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital – Continuing Care Unit (189 Elm St, St Thomas, ON N5R 1J3).
