Obituary of Shaun Sarfraz Ali

In Loving Memory of Shaun Ali Shaun Ali, born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, on April 17, 1982, passed away suddenly on August 6, 2026, in Toronto, Ontario, at the age of 44. Shaun had a quiet and gentle spirit. He attended Diamond Vale Government Primary School and later Saint Anthony's College, where he was known as a good student. He loved cricket and soccer and spent much of his youth at his grandparents' home, surrounded by cousins, aunts, uncles, and his beloved family parrot, Richie. Those years were filled with family, laughter, and memories that remained close to his heart throughout his life. Shaun was a deeply loved son, grandson, brother, uncle to Shaheed, nephew, cousin, and friend to many. Shaun began his working career with Scotiabank in Trinidad. Following his twin brother to Canada, Shaun moved to Toronto and attended Seneca College in 2007, where he pursued a diploma in Business Administration. Over the years, he worked in various roles, built lasting friendships, and embraced life in his new home while maintaining strong ties to his family and Caribbean roots. He was the cherished grandson of the late Simeon and Soonarie Baggan and Zora and Pasha Ali. His kindness, gentle nature, and quiet strength touched the lives of those who knew him. He leaves behind his loving parents, (Saud) Mustafa Ali and Rawtie (Baggan) Ali; his beloved twin brother, Sheldon; his kind-hearted younger brother, Shane; and his sweet sister, Sherry. The bond they shared as siblings, and especially the unique connection between Shaun and Sheldon, was a testament to the love that defined his life. The family asks that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they gather from Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, the United States, and Canada to celebrate Shaun's life and cherish the memories he leaves behind.
