Obituary of Sandra Lee Ann Van Dusen

VAN DUSEN – After a hard-fought battle with cancer, Sandi passed away on June 13, 2026, at home surrounded by her children and husband with Fleetwood Mac playing and the sun shining. She is survived by her husband Jeff; her children Nicole, Tyler, Devin, Brett, Dustin, Dylan and Colton; her grandchildren Daxyn, Presley, Luna, Remi and one on the way. If you knew Sandi V, you knew there was no such things as a stranger. Five minutes with her and you were family. She was Mom to so many, the life of every party, the loudest laugh in the room, and the person everyone called when they needed a friend, a ride, a hug, a kick in the pants, or a rum and Diet Coke. A true songbird, a wild heart, and the kind of person you only meet once in a lifetime. As Fleetwood Mac reminded us, don’t stop thinking about tomorrow – but on this day, we’re thinking about Sandi. The memories, the adventures, the friendships, the love, and the countless lives she touched. There was no one like her. There never will be. So come celebrate the one and only Sandi on Thursday, June 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Lions Den at the Dorchester Community Centre. We’ll share stories, good tunes, plenty of laughs, a few tears, and raise a glass to the woman who made every room brighter just by walking into it. We’ll bring the good tunes, the rum and Diet Cokes, and enough love to fill the room one more time. Because if Sandi taught us anything, it’s that life is meant to be lived loud, loved hard, and shared with good people. Don’t stop thinking about Sandi.
