Obituary of Craig Howard Huctwith

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Craig Howard Huctwith. Craig wasn’t surrounded by family as he took his leave, but he did have a final breakfast with his mother on his last morning. This will always bring the family comfort. Craig wore many hats in his 62 years. Adored son of Mel (2020) and Shirley; loving brother to Heather (Kevin Whitty) and Chris (Shelley nee Beattie); doting uncle to Amelia, Sarah and Jenna. You may have shared an ice surface or diamond with Craig as a player or an official. He may have helped DJ your event. You may recognize Craig as a superfan of both iterations of our Dorchester Dolphins. He may have walked the halls of your high school as your cheery custodian. Craig was never happier than when he had a line in the water, whether on Lake Huron or Lake Erie. Or listening to 70s and 80s rock music in his vehicle with a cigar in his hand (don’t tell Mom). Many thanks to our friends at the Dorchester Terrace for such loving care for 2 years and to Southbridge London East for his short stay… just 3 weeks there but so much positive attention and assistance. Craig’s dedicated parents, Mel & Shirley devoted their lives to help Craig carve out an amazing life. His life story would not have been as positive without their influence. Other Dorchester angels joined in, looking out for Craig, nudging him in better directions and pulling on strings that needed to be pulled. Craig's void will be filled with so many great stories and memories. We keep saying it - this place won’t be the same without him. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to Belmont Aylmer Dorchester Girls Hockey Association, Dorchester Minor Hockey Association, or Ducks Unlimited. Friends will be received at the Bieman Funeral Home, Dorchester, Ontario - Sunday June 7, 2026, 2 pm - 5 pm A private service will be held at a later date
