Obituary of William James Melton Leslie

William (Bill) James Melton Leslie June 14, 1953 - March 3, 2026 Bill was the beloved husband of Marilyn Leslie (nee Anderson) for nearly 42 years following a courtship of 6 years. He is survived by his daughter Laura Ritchie and her husband Lee, and his grandchildren Andy and Ashley of Parkhill, and his son James Leslie of London. Predeceased by his parents William Leslie (2024) and June Leslie (2019). Survived by his sister Brenda Waters and her husband Chuck and their son Tom of London. Brother in law of David and Cathy Anderson of Bracebridge, Gary and Cathy Anderson of London, Nancy Anderson and Julie Hotte of Minden. Uncle of Zachary, Emily, Tara and Stacey. Favourite son in law of Roy (1985) and Shirley (2019) Anderson. Bill grew up in Glen Cairn in London and attended Laurier S.S., UWO and University of Windsor. He later earned his CGA designation. After 8 years in London, Bill and Marilyn moved to Dorchester in 1992. Bill could be seen walking around town, often to the arena. He loved living in Dorchester. Bill had several careers with Scotiabank, Canada Trust, Air Ontario, Vista Jet and Canada Revenue Agency. He spent hours volunteering with Dorchester Minor Hockey as a manager and also coached baseball. Bill was a supportive fan of James and Laura at countless swimming competitions with the Ingersoll Speed Sharks. Bill was a faithful New York Yankees fan since 1961. Many thanks to the Dorchester VON day program. Kudos to all the wonderful, nurses, doctors, PSWs and cleaning staff at LHSC, Victoria Campus, Parkwood Hospital, and University Hospital. Visitation will be held at Bieman Funeral Home, 3970 Hamilton Road, Dorchester on Friday, March 13,2026 from 3-6PM and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Pine Knot Golf and Country Club, 5421 Hamilton Road, Dorchester on Sunday March 15, 2026 from 1-4PM.
