We met the Dow family in 1970 when we immigrated from England to 277 Hamilton Rd. We attended St Peter's Anglican church where Mum (Pat) and Barbara became quick and devoted friends. We remember Ted as being a kind, gentle and compassionate man. Inspite of his demanding job as bank manager he always had a smile on his face and he took his time to listen and treat everyone with respect regardless of age. Even though, Ted and Barbara moved to London from Dorchester, we kept in touch and were aware of Ted's failing health. We are grateful that Ted and Barbara embraced us so warmly as newcomers to Canada and that Pat and Barbara's friendship has been devoted and unwaivering even to this day with frequent letters from Barbara and photos on Mum's wall in the nursing home.
Sending the family comfort, friendship and blessings.
Love from the Pepper family (Derek, Pat, Sally and Juliet)

Mr Dow was the first person to kickstart our farming career by lending us money over 40 years ago! His timeless advice was to look after the pennies and the dollars would look after themselves! Ted's wisdom is still used on a daily basis. It was great to have a time when we knew the bank manager on a personal level and felt comfortable sharing our goals and dreams with such a kind and understanding man.
On behalf of two generations of the Irwin family, our deepest condolences to the Dow family.

To Barb - Please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of Ted. I’m so sorry.
He was such a warm, caring person. How well I remember our good times together - with you and Ted, Bill and me, both before and after our marriages. Such fond memories! Peace to you and your family . . . Norma (Dunn) Clare

Mr. and Mrs. Dow were a very big part of my family and Church life. Many good memories of Chittick Crescent and St. Peter's Church. Many fun sleepovers with Sherry were spent at your home. There were a lot of parents who helped raise the Children on Chittick Crescent. I hope you keep the memories close to your heart. Wanda Moore Mossey
