Mervin Taylor of Dorchester passed away after a long struggle on Monday, March 9, 2026 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Sandy for 54 years and very proud father of Chris Taylor. Predeceased by mother Reta McBride and father Bill Taylor; sister Phyllis Haugh (Lorne); brothers Bob Taylor (Diane) and Stuart Taylor (Junette). Survived by nephew Larry Haugh (Lorie) of London. Merv was born in Hay Township and grew up in Exeter, ON before starting his married life in Dorchester. He was a plumber/pipe fitter who started his career in 1966 as an apprentice with Besterd Mechanical and was employed by them for the duration of his working career. When he was able, he loved tending to his flower gardens and spending time at their place in Grand Bend where his favourite pastime was relaxing on his deck and enjoying a drink with friends. He also enjoyed going on cruises and many vacations spent in Florida and Mexico during the winter. Cremation has taken place.
