Our hearts are breaking for you with the loss of your precious son and little brother. Nothing can prepare you for the heartache it brings. We have shared many fun memories throughout the years with the boys growing up together from playschool, elementary school and BMHA. Your spunky, tenacious and cheeky beautiful boy will never be forgotten! We are so sorry we couldn't be there today, but are sending you each our love, strength and loads of hugs to help prepare to continue on life's journey without Michael. We shared so many wonderful memories with Michael in Manitoulin. My kids looked up to you like a big brother. Thank you for always making us laugh and the wonderful memories, forever in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all Jamie, Rebecca and Brittany. We will miss you Michael. xoxo
I will never forget the times we had as kids on Manitoulin Island. Michael was always in good spirits and his laughter was contagious to those around him. you will be missed Michael
Our thoughts and hearts are with you Jamie, Rebecca and Brit in this difficult time. We will always remember Michael's big smile and his love for road hockey. He was always the first kid to drag the net and stick out and the last one to put them away.

I’m so sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. He was one of my college roommates and was always the kindest, most helpful person. Wether it was changing a brake light or a ride to the airport, he was up for it all. The world is definitely missing something special without him around.

Dear Michael's Family:
Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us everyday
Unseen, Unheard, but very near
Still Missed, Still Loved and very dear.
Rebecca and family, my deepest sympathies for your loss. May your memories of Michael bring you comfort and strength in the days ahead.

I remember a day, a long time ago, at the dirt bike track outside Belmont (The Mushroom Track we called it). Michael was there tearing it up and Brendan was watching in awe because he was younger and new to the MX world. There was so much possibility and future ahead. That day is one I remember well for some reason, it was a good day. I hope everyone remembers the “good” days because those are what counts.
So saddened to hear of Michael’s passing. I will always remember his determination and spirit in his hockey days. It didn’t matter that he often came up against taller players, Michael’s heart, guts and determination always won out. He will be remembered and missed by many friends in Belmont. Sincerely Tory, Tyler and Trevor Marr and their Mom, Penny Shackelton
